(Or, An Important Update from Denver Pop Culture Con and DPCCEDGE)

If you recognize that quote, you’re definitely one of us. (Nerd.) And if you’re one of us, you’re not the type of person to just blow off deadlines. Plus there’s that whole thing with the boulder. That’s why we’re going to tell you something really important now.

We’ll give you a hint first. It’s about the E.D.G.E. at Denver Pop Culture Con 2015. What’s the E.D.G.E. you ask? Oh, we recap like a boss. Here we go. (“Television announcer voice: Last time, on the #DPCCEDGE at Denver Pop Culture Con…”)

What is the E.D.G.E.? It’s our gaming experience expanded and redefined to include a wider variety of entertainment, gaming, creation and educational offerings in an experiential setting. It goes like this:

E: Entertainment, including videos, podcasts, streaming entertainment and more.

D: Development and Design, for all makers, DIY-ers, crafters, coders, engineers and developers.

G: Gamers, from the casual to the hardcore and from PC enthusiasts to console junkies.

E: Education, for like-minded people who think pop culture, gaming and other media are great platforms for teaching young people about the world.

It’s our place within Denver Pop Culture Con 2015 for people who make stuff, whether it’s an indie tablet game or 3D-printer-carved ray guns, your podcast about Johnny Sokko and his Giant Robot, or simply helping to forge better-educated, more well-rounded and cooler kids. If your role in this universe is to be a creator, this is the place for you. And now, the big announcement…

Well, not right this second. But momentarily for sure.

Okay, you’re wearing us down. Seriously.

You’re sure you’re ready?

(I mean, spoilers, right?).

Okay, give me a minute to limber up. Cardio, you know.

(Have any of you guys seen my phone?)

(Yes, I know I could call it but it plays the Doctor Who theme and then Nikki gets all weird).

Oh, right, the very important thing is…

OMG YOU GUYS THE DEADINE FOR SUBMISSIONS FOR DPCC E.D.G.E. IS SATURDAY, MARCH 21st! THAT’S ONLY TWO WEEKS AWAY! IF WE DON’T GET OUR REGISTRATIONS IN SOON WE’RE GOING TO MISS IT!

(Whoo. No, I’m okay. I know it’s really like 17 days away, but that’s really not very far away. Pull it together, guys.)

Seriously, the E.D.G.E. is going to be awesome! It’s a realm of wonder within Denver Pop Culture Con where magic and technology clash in a firestorm of creativity, enchantment, DIY ethos and ingenuity whose forces threaten to tear asunder the very fabric of space and time!

(Dial it back a little? K.)

The E.D.G.E. is a destination exhibition within Denver Pop Culture Con that combines our PC, console and tabletop gaming festival with a diverse “maker faire,” a film festival, and a “Robotics Expo.” (Please note: underground back-alley robot fights are not sanctioned or sponsored by Denver Pop Culture Con or state or federal authorities. That we know of.)

Denver Pop Culture Con encourages everyone who is interested to enroll at our E.D.G.E. pre-registration site TODAY to reserve your place at this wildly unique event. We’re looking for teachers, schools, robotics companies, makers, community groups, game developers, DIY-ers, kickstarters, podcasters, crafters, coders and more. Anyone who loves creating amazing objects, products and experiences will definitely find their tribe in the E.D.G.E.

Don’t miss your chance to be a part of the fastest growing pop culture convention in the nation! To find out more and reserve table space at E.D.G.E., contact Chris Abbey, E.D.G.E. Programming Overlord at DPCCEDGE@popcultureclassroom.org and use the hashtag #DPCCEDGE to share news and updates and promote DPCC E.D.G.E. to the masses.
