Denver Pop Culture Con, Denver’s largest consumer convention and a program of education-nonprofit Pop Culture Classroom, today announced it is bringing actor Hayley Atwell to the June 17 – 19, 2016 event at the Colorado Convention Center.

In 2011, Atwell became a box office sensation for her role as ‘Agent Peggy Carter’ in the Marvel film “Captain America: The First Avenger” and reprised the role for the 2014 sequel, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” She also played Peggy Carter in the 2015 film “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” On the small screen, Atwell can be seen in Marvel’s “Agent Carter,” which picks up a year after the events of “Captain America: The First Avenger,” and follows Peggy Carter’s blossoming career as a secret agent. Atwell will  be at Denver Pop Culture Con on Saturday only.

“Hayley’s character is an essential part of the Marvel Universe and one that fans have really gravitated towards,” said Denver Pop Culture Con director Christina Angel. “We’re delighted to have her at Denver Pop Culture Con 2016.”

Atwell joins previously announced guests in the 2016 Denver Pop Culture Con lineup, including Stan Lee (Marvel Comics), Carrie Fisher (Star Wars), Ralph Macchio (Karate Kid and The Outsiders), C. Thomas Howell (The Outsiders), Jenna Coleman and Alex Kingston (Doctor Who), Karl Urban (Star Trek), Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley (The Vampire Diaries), John Barrowman (Doctor Who, Arrow), and Clark Gregg (The Avengers, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) among many other comic book creators and pop culture celebrities.

Denver Pop Culture Con has quickly become one of the most attended pop culture conventions in America. The popularity is due in part because of its robust schedule of programming—more than 400 hours of sessions during which artists, creators, celebrities and industry experts talk about their craft and their creations—as well as its family-friendly mission and environment. The largest portion of the show floor, more than 9,000 sq. ft., is dedicated to teens and children with activities designed to engage kids in education through pop culture.
