Alex Simmons

Alex Simmons is an author, playwright, voice actor and educator.  In his 30-plus years as an industry professional Simmons has created and or written a number of juvenile mysteries penned two educational documentaries and several stage plays; written three movie novelizations for Disney and co-wrote the Raven League (a middle grade mystery series which he also created).  He is also the founder of Kids Comic Con which recently celebrated its 11th anniversary in New York City.

Simmons has written stories a variety of characters from Batman to Scooby Doo, as well as his own series BLACKJACK.  And as a voice actor he has performed in a wide range of projects from O’Henry Bars, to podcasting financial information for DeLoitte and Touche. 

As an internationally recognized industry expert, he has traveled the globe as a guest speaker and teaching artist, speaking on a number of learning issues involving children and young adults. Simmons has developed and conducted creative writing and acting workshops, and consulted on many creative arts programs and curricula for children. 

Currently, Simmons is serving as the Arts in Education Director for the Children’s Art Carnival (NYC); and he sits on the board of the New York State Alliance for Arts and Education. He is affiliated with the Museum of Comic & Cartoon Art (MOCCA), and is also a member of the New York Writer’s Workshop.  You can find more about him at
