Denver Pop Culture Con (DPCC), Denver’s largest consumer convention and a program of education nonprofit Pop Culture Classroom (PCC), today announced it is bringing Lena Headey to the June 17 – 19, 2016 event at the Colorado Convention Center.

Headey, best known for her role as Cersei Lannister in HBO’s hugely popular television series, “Game of Thrones,” based on George R.R. Martin’s book series “A Song of Ice and Fire.” The series recently launched its sixth season.

“In Game of Thrones, Headey brings to life a powerful and polarizing character that, whether you hate or love her, keeps us wanting more every week,” said Christina Angel, Denver Pop Culture Con director.

In addition to her role as Cersei, Headey stared as Queen Gorgo, a heroic Spartan woman in the period film, “300” (2006), by director Zack Snyder. Headey has also appeared as Sarah Connor in FOX’s television series “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” (2008), a TV spin-off of the popular “Terminator” film franchise.

Headey joins previously announced guests in the 2016 Denver Pop Culture Con lineup including Stan Lee (Marvel Comics), Clark Gregg (Marvel Universe), Hayley Atwell (Captain America), and the cast and crews of Gotham, Shannara, and the Vampire Diaries, among many other comic book creators and pop culture celebrities.

Denver Pop Culture Con has quickly become one of the most attended pop culture conventions in America. The popularity is due in part because of its robust schedule of programming—more than 400 hours of sessions during which artists, creators, celebrities and industry experts talk about their craft and their creations—as well as its family-friendly mission and environment. The largest portion of the show floor, more than 9,000 sq. ft., is dedicated to teens and children with activities designed to engage kids in education through pop culture.
