With DPCC 2015 just around the corner, we’re excited to announce that we are transforming—nay, supersizing!—our children’s educational area this year. What was formerly known as the Comic Book Classroom Corral is now the Pop Culture Classroom Laboratory (PCC Lab).

In 2014, Denver Pop Culture Con’s Comic Book Corral (CBC) and 8-Bit Lounge gave over 9,000 students the chance to meet artists, create comic book-themed crafts, and get hands-on experience with everything from stop-motion animated shorts to professional makeup jobs. At DPCC 2015, the Pop Culture Classroom Laboratory promises to continue building on this amazing success and give students exciting new ways to express themselves.

Along with the usual mix of artist discussions, arts activities, mind-blowing exhibits the PCC Lab will feature innovative activities focused around S.T.E.A.M subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math) and pop culture topics beyond comic books—not to mention a few surprise guests along the way! We’ll also be expanding the 8-Bit Lounge to connect even more artists, educators, and professionals with 12- to 19-year-old students.

Whether you’re a teacher, parent, or student, we invite you to visit the Pop Culture Classroom Laboratory—pronounced La-Bohr-A-Tory (more on this soon!)this year at DPCC 2015. Take a seat away from the bustling crowds and join us as we jumpstart creativity with activities for fans of all ages. And be sure to keep your eyes peeled for more info on PCC Lab and special events at DPCC 2015!

Onward and Upward!
