Pop Culture Classroom to participate with community partners to celebrate Star Wars fandom

Denver, November 25, 2015 – Pop Culture Classroom (PCC), a Colorado nonprofit that develops learning tools using pop culture media and organizes Denver Pop Culture Con (DPCC), announced today that they will be collaborating on two Star Wars themed family events during the month of December.

The events will be a “Star Wars Night” at the Pepsi Center, during the Colorado Avalanche home game on December 27, 2015, and a “Weekend of Star Wars” with the Colorado Symphony on December 26 and 27, 2015 at the Boettcher Concert Hall, both located in Denver.

“Star Wars Night” at the Pepsi Center will have entertainment during and after the Avalanche hockey game. The event will include photo opportunities with the 501st Mountain Garrison of Imperial Stormtroopers and the Mountain States Droid Builders, as well as other guests and activities to be announced soon. Discount pricing is available for specific seat sections and includes a commemorative “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” hockey puck. With each ticket sold, $5 goes to support Pop Culture Classroom’s educational endeavors.

Colorado Symphony’s “Weekend of Star Wars” showcases the music of John Williams and other Star Wars franchise composers. “Pop Culture Classroom will have a wide variety of educational activities at this event, “ says Adam Kullberg, PCC’s Education Department Manger, “We’ll have a ‘Create a Character’ station, artist stations where kids can get quick sketches made, green screen photo ops and more fun experiences for the entire family.”

Other than their Denver Pop Culture Con event, the organization maintains relationships with community partner organizations to offer year-round family entertainment.
