Board Game Design Jam Sign-Up

Learn how to make your own original board game from gaming experts. Create your game, playtest it with others, and see if your team can win PopUP Denver 2022’s award for best boardgame. Make a family-friendly game that kids will love to play and you could win!

This competition is open to everyone ages 6 and up, and the winning individual or team will take home a special gaming-themed prize. Those under 18 will need parental permission to participate. Pre-registration is required, so please sign up below before 11:59 PM MT, Saturday, October 15, 2022. Paid admission to PopUP Denver 2022 is required to participate in The Board Game Design Jam.

Here are a few things you should know before entering the Board Game Design Jam: 

Participation Information 

• This is a free program but you must register in advance to participate 
• The session will start promptly at 10am, so please plan to arrive a few minutes early.  
• The session will begin with a 15-min mini -workshop with tips and tricks for creating your board game. You will have the remaining time to conceptualize and create your board game.  
• Pop Culture Classroom will provide all necessary supplies.  

Team Rules 

• List all team members when registering online. 
• This is primarily an activity for kids/teens and their families. Adults are more than welcome to participate, but MUST partner with a kid/teen. 
• Teams may have no more than 4 people.  

The Competition and Prizes 

• After the game jam, you can sign up for a 20-minute time slot to show your game to the judges! We’ll announce winners in the afternoon on the 2nd floor stage.  
• The winning team will receive tickets to FAN EXPO Denver 2023 and a $100 gift card to Level 7 Games!
