Through February 28, 2018, Pop Culture Classroom is accepting submissions for Educational Sessions at the upcoming 2018 Denver Pop Culture Con. We want to encourage you to submit potential panel ideas regarding the use of pop culture in education.
The variety of topics is almost infinite – some of our favorite topics include Gaming and Technology, Diversity and Gender Issues, Teaching/Pedagogy, Writing/Literature, and Comics Art, but if you’ve got an innovative idea, feel free to submit that as well!
Previous sessions have covered everything from Science in Star Wars to Cosplay in the Classroom. If you’re looking for a space to prove that being nerdy and loving fandoms can not only coincide with learning, but also enhance it, then our educational sessions would be perfect for you.
You can also suggest a variety of formats for your session – be it a panel, a lecture, or a roundtable discussion. We want you to have as much freedom as possible to express what the relationship between pop culture and learning means to you.
On top of the opportunity to present on a topic that is important to you, acceptance will also enable you to connect and share ideas with other educators, learn more about the integration of pop culture media in the classroom, earn re-certification and professional development hours for attending or presenting panels, and have the amazing experience of attending Denver Pop Culture Con!
We love seeing passionate and innovative educators spread their ideas throughout the community. Diverse interests and ideas enable education to move forward, and if you want to help that progress by hosting an educational session at Denver Pop Culture Con, we’d absolutely love to have you there.
