  • FAN EXPO Denver 2023 passes and possible programming participation (June 30th – July 2nd, 2023).

Excellence in Graphic Literature Advisory Board Member

Advisory Board members are responsible for refining and overseeing all aspects of the Excellence in Graphic Literature (EGL) Awards , as well as participating in the Book of the Year and Mosaic Awards selection process.

EGL Advisory Board member positions are for industry leaders with demonstrated and extensive track records representing, but not limited to:

  • Education Member-At-Large
  • Publishing or Bookselling Member-At-Large
  • Library Member-At-Large
  • Inclusivity/Diversity Member-At-Large

Excellence in Graphic Literature Awards – Category Chair

Category Chairs are responsible for overseeing aspects of the judging process relative to their assigned category, managing jurors in their assigned category, reading and evaluating all submitted books in their assigned category, and participating in the Book of the Year and Mosaic Awards selection process.

EGL Category Chairs are industry leaders with demonstrated and extensive track records representing, but not limited to:

  • Education Member-At-Large
  • Publishing or Bookselling Member-At-Large
  • Library Member-At-Large
  • Inclusivity/Diversity Member-At-Large

Excellence in Graphic Literature Awards – Juror

Category Jurors are responsible for reading and evaluating all submitted books in their assigned category.

EGL Jurors are experienced professionals who span the publishing, library, and education industries. Their ultimate goal is to select the best in fiction & nonfiction graphic literature published during the calendar year in their assigned category.

2023 EGL Awards Timeline

Dates subject to change:

  • January 9, 2023: Title Submissions and Jury/Advisory Board Applications Open 
  • February 5th, 2023: Jury/Advisory Board Applications Close 
  • February 10, 2023: Title Submissions Close 
  • February 15, 2023: Category jurying begins 
  • May 5, 2023: Category jurying ends.  
  • May 8, 2023: Finalists Selected; Book of the Year (BOTY) and Mosaic Awards Judging Process Begins 
  • May 22, 2023: Begin Finalist announcements 
  • May 26, 2023: BOTY and Mosaic Jurying ends 
  • May 29, 2023: Begin Category Winner announcements 
  • June 5, 2023: Begin BOTY and Mosaic Winner Announcements 
  • June 30 – July 2nd: FAN EXPO Denver (Possible EGL panels, Educators’ Day presence) 
  • August 2023: EGL Awards Celebration/Educator Appreciation Event
